The restoration of the church and gardens will be a transformational gift to everyone in Limehouse. St Anne’s will be a welcoming space for workshops, exhibitions, and festivals. Families and friends will gather in a warm and inviting cafe. Beautiful performing arts and music will resonate through the halls. This vision is for everyone who lives and works in Limehouse. St Anne’s community hub will also be a catalyst for wider regeneration in East London. To fulfil our 2030 vision, we submitted a funding application to National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) and received an initial Development Grant of £613,000 towards the £10.2m total project target. The NLHF grant has helped us form a campaign team to raise £3.6m towards the capital costs by August 2025. The congregation have already pledged £300,000 towards their target of £360,000; we are submitting grant applications to bring in £1m; and we are in the midst of conversations with other funders to pledge the remaining match funding. Once we have successfully raised this sum, we will be able to bid again to the NLHF for the Delivery Phase.
